DeMarco Advanced Research in Neurorehabilitation (DARN) Lab

GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER

RESEARCH LAB INVESTIGATING APHASIA RECOVERY AND NEUROPLASTICITY

The DARN Lab is directed by Andrew DeMarco, PhD, CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist and neuroscientist.

The mission of the lab is to seek to improve the lives of people with cognitive and language difficulties by prioritizing innovative and high-quality research that pushes the boundaries of current knowledge on aphasia recovery and neuroplasticity.

We are focusing on expanding our understanding of 1) how the brain performs cognitive and language functions, 2) how the brain changes in the face of a stroke or other injury or dysfunction, and 3) how this information can help us improve individual recovery.
